Continuing Ed Has Space Available In Several Courses

Newtown Continuing Education has announced that five courses being offered this fall still have space available.

Fitness for Everyone! Join this class to get fit, have fun, and relieve stress. This efficient and effective workout will include aerobics, toning exercises, and stretching. Taught by Jill Patterson, certified aerobics instructor and personal trainer. Tuesday/Thursday, 12 classes starting October 23, Newtown High School (NHS), 4:30 to 5:30. The fee is $79.

An Introduction to PowerPoint. Microsoft’s PowerPoint combines the features of a word processor, graphics program and slide organizer into a tool specifically designed to add punch to presentations. Mondays, two classes starting October 29, NHS, 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The fee is $63.

Basic Home Repair for Beginners. Learn how to repair small holes in sheetrock, repair the most common problems with leaky toilets and caulking techniques for a finished look. Join Jan Brown in a hands-on workshop for anyone who wants to start becoming a Do-It-Yourselfer. Tuesday, October 30, 7 to 9 pm. The cost is $39.

Get Organized. If you want to live a calmer, more organized life, now is the time to learn how. Bonnie Dewkett, the Joyful Organizer, will provide the tools necessary to create organizational systems that meet your family’s needs. Wednesday, November 7, 7 to 9 pm. The fee is $39.

Ballroom Dancing. Learn the Fox Trot, Waltz, Cha Cha, and more! Joe and Nonnie have been dancing together for more than 21 years and their basic concept of dancing consists of having fun with easy to learn instruction. Thursdays, four classes starting November 8, Sandy Hook School, 7–8 pm. The fee is $99/couple or $51/single.
