Blood Drive Planned

SOUTHBURY — There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive Sunday, November 4, from 9 am until 1:45 pm, at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.

Any healthy person at least 17 years of age and weighing at least 110 pounds can donate blood every 56 days. There is no upper age limit.

Having a flu shot will not impact the ability to donate. Donors should drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.

Just one pint of donated blood can help save the lives of several people. There is always a shortage of blood with much of today’s medical care depending on a steady supply of blood from healthy donors.

Appointments are available. Call Cynthia Berger at The Federation, 267-3177, extension 106, to register for an appointment or for additional information.

This will be the sixth annual blood drive sponsored by Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut and the American Red Cross. The goal is to have 100 people donate blood that day.
