US Trade Relations With China; A Discussion
DANBURY â A business consultant who was responsible for a large corporationâs business operations in Asia will discuss the trade relationship between the United States and China to a political science class at Western Connecticut State University. The discussion is open to the public.
President Clinton recently signed a bill permanently normalizing commercial traffic with the worldâs largest country. Bruce Vakiener, the former executive vice president and corporate vice president of Loctite Corp., a $1 billion adhesives and sealant company headquartered in Hartford, will speak to a section of PS 104: World Governments, Economies, and Cultures on Tuesday, November 7, from 5:25 to 6:25 pm, in Room 231, White Hall, 181 White Street.
During his tenure in the Asian Pacific, Mr Vakiener negotiated and set up Loctite subsidiaries and ventures in China, India, and Korea. He lived in Hong Kong and Japan. He currently serves as president of World Affairs Council of Hartford.
