Joyful Music For A Great Space
Joyful Music For A Great Space
HARTFORD â Connecticut music lovers will be given a feast for the ears on Sunday, November 5, at 4 pm, when Chorus Angelicus, Gaudeamus and The Battell Chamber Orchestra perform a free concert entitled âMusic for a Great Spaceâ at one of the areaâs finest acoustical spaces, St Justin Church.
The concert will feature the beloved Faure Requiem as well as music by Poulenc, Gabrielli and Tavener, among others. The concert will also celebrate sacred music from Gregorian chant to the modern mystics. Mayor Mike Peters has declared November 5 as Joyful Noise, Inc. Day in the City of Hartford.
The choirs and string orchestra will be placed throughout the church in its several balconies and galleries to give the listener the ultimate experience in surround-sound. This is the sixth concert in a series of âMusic for a Great Spaceâ concerts in inner-city churches being performed free of charge. Each concert has attracted an audience of approximately 1,000 enthusiastic listeners.
