âCasperâ Screenings For Halloween
Edmond Town Hall in Newtown will host two special screenings of the 1995 film Casper, starring Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci, Eric Idle, Cathy Moriarty, and the voice of 12-year old Malachi Pearson as the friendly ghost who just wants to have a friend.
Showings will be on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29, at 1 pm. Admission is $1 for all ages. Also, all who arrive for the movies dressed in costume will receive a free small popcorn.
Casper, the friendly ghost, was created at the beginning of the 1940s by Joe Oriolo and Sy Reit, who wrote a childrenâs book featuring the lovable ghost. Thanks to some cartoons and later a Paramount television series in 1950, Casper became quite famous and one of the most beloved cartoon characters.
