To The Editor:

As I have in prior elections, I write this letter to let my fellow Newtown citizens know that I proudly endorse our State Representative, Mitch Bolinsky, for reelection. Mitch has served as our voice in Hartford, working with lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to enact meaningful legislation that does not serve parties but rather the people of Connecticut. It is easy for those running for office to say what they will do but with Mitch, we have a record of all that he has already accomplished in his ten years in office, especially his work for the aging population of our state.

Having had conversations with him and watching him interact with fellow Newtowners at public meetings, I realize that Mitch is unlike many politicians in that, rather than tell you all he has done, he works hard to understand what we want him to know. Mitch is an active listener, attentive to our needs, always available to answer our questions and concerns. While his voice is in Hartford, his heart is with us in Newtown.

Driving through town and seeing the multitude of lawn signs, I am struck by how often I see people supporting Mitch even though they may be supporting another party at the top of the ticket. To me, this is just one testament to how much his work is recognized and appreciated. I ask that all my fellow Newtown voters support Mitch Bolinsky for another term as our State Representative.
