To The Editor:

On October 4, Mitch Bolinsky posted on Facebook that October is Domestic Violence Month and how we are lucky to have the Center for Empowerment and Education located nearby in Danbury for victims of domestic violence. While it is great that he is building awareness of this pressing family issue, it is unfortunate that his voting record while representing our town doesn’t reflect his support to protect us from domestic violence.

In 2021, Mitch voted against Public Act 21-67 which was an act to Remove Guns from violent offenders and domestic abusers.

In 2023, Mitch voted against Public Act 23-53 which strengthened gun violence legislation.

If this issue is important to you please consider voting for Michelle Embree Ku for Newtown’s State Representative. She will support what is best for our town.
