To the Editor:

The letter below is an endorsement by me as a Newtown resident and is not associated with the Newtown Board of Education.

As a resident of Newtown for 20-plus years and a member of the Board of Education, I am supporting Mitch Bolinsky for state representative. Mitch has worked tirelessly to advocate for the citizens of Newtown, both young and old, and has always been accessible and thoughtful.

As a member of the Board of Education, I am most impressed with Mitch’s support for education. Mitch stood up to Governor Malloy and protected $4.89 million in funding. If cut, this would have been passed on to all Newtown taxpayers as an increased tax burden. Mitch is a staunch advocate for teachers and students while remaining fiscally responsible. We need to keep an experienced presence in the house working for Newtown. Mitch is that person.

When you head to the polls on election day, please join me in supporting Mitch Bolinsky, Republican, for State Representative.
