The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host May Phillips for a demonstration of painting a watercolor on rice paper during its next meeting, on Wednesday, October 25, beginning at 1:30 pm.

The program will be in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). It is not necessary to be a member of SCAN to attend. Admission is free.

Ms Phillips is a member of Connecticut Watercolor Society. Her paintings can be seen at PS Gallery in Litchfield, and Center Frame and Art Gallery in West Hartford.

Her latest murals can be seen in Nino's restaurant in Waterbury, and at The Shriner's Children's Hospital in Springfield, Mass.
