Middle Gate Silent Auction

There will be a Silent Auction Party on Saturday, November 4, to raise funds for a new playground at Middle Gate School. In addition to the auction, the event will include hors d’oeuvres and desserts, as well as live music provided by Sister Funk.

Items up for bid include a day’s worth of landscaping, a dinner party for ten, professional theater and sports tickets, a pearl necklace and bracelet, gift certificates to local restaurants, and an assortment of gift baskets.

According to Helen Wiberg, who chairs the Middle Gate Playground Committee, this is expected to be the biggest fundraising event to date for the playground. “There are some extraordinary items that have been donated to the auction, and we hope to have a big turnout of parents as well. It promises to be a fun night, and the money we raise will go a long way towards reaching our goal of installing the new playground in 2001.”

The Silent Auction Party is from 7 to 11 pm at the Sandy Hook Firehouse. The cost is $25 per person. For more information, call Helen Wiberg 270-7690.
