From County Armagh To Fairfield County: The Clancy Tradition

RIDGEFIELD — It will be St Patrick’s Day in November when The Clancy Tradition visits Ridgefield Library for a lively evening concert of traditional Irish music. The group will be making a special appearance for the library’s monthly “Poetry in Motion” series, presenting a musical version of “Yeats Dances the Jig.”

The concert will begin when Eugene Clancy, the papa of the clan, offers a recitation of his favorite Irish poets. The music will follow, with The Clancy Tradition performing a selection of songs, jigs, reels and hornpipes from within and outside the Celtic music field on fiddle, mandolin, vocals, guitar, keyboards and Irish two-row button accordion. The performance will begin at 7:30.

Admission is free, but reservations are being strongly suggested. The library, at 472 Main Street, can be reached by calling 203/438-2282.
