To the Editor:

I am writing this to endorse Chris Smith for election to the Legislative Council.

Chris has successfully served on the board for the last two years. Prior to that, he was on the Conservation Committee, helping to preserve the rustic, rural character of Newtown for all to enjoy.

He opposed the transportation of fracking waste through town and was diligent in evaluating the plastic bag ban. He takes a balanced approach, weighing both sides under consideration.

Chris has been a Newtown resident for close to 20 years and is very active in local sports, school volunteer functions, and supports local volunteer activities. He understands the town character and strives to enhance our positive growth while maintaining our essential quality of life.

Chris Smith is committed to community, honest, diligent, mindful and ethical… traits that are needed by our town leaders.
