A Record-Breaking Donation Day
To the Editor:
The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library held their annual Fall Donation Day on Sunday, October 21. The weather may have been crisp and autumnal, yet the response from the community was very heart-warming.
Thank you to everyone who dropped off books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, vinyl LPs, games, and puzzles to support the Friends’ fundraising efforts to benefit the library. We were extremely pleased with the variety and quality of the donations. Your support helps the Friends fulfill its mission of providing financial support for the acquisition of materials and technology, and the many programs that we so enjoy in our town library.
Gift-quality donations will be offered at our annual Holiday Sale, to be held in the library Meeting Room on December 1-2, 2018. Other items will be offered at the annual Book Sale at the Reed Intermediate School scheduled for Saturday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
Thanks go as well to the dedicated Friends’ volunteers who donated their time and expertise last Sunday to collect, transport, and process the record-breaking number of items received.
To those of you who couldn’t make it on Sunday or have even more to donate, please continue to drop off your books and media in the Friends sorting room on the first level of the library (opposite the elevator). If you need assistance or wish more information, contact the Friends at boothbooksale@yahoo.com or leave a message at 203-270-4537.
