On November 3 we have a choice for town clerk. I hope you, like me, will vote for Sara Frampton. She is a dedicated, community-minded volunteer and lifelong Newtown resident. Sara is a self-directed learner who researches her obligations before making a commitment. She understands what it will take to be an effective town clerk, working to ensure the town hall moves forward with technology. She has served on many committees, including the Board of Ethics and DTC and has also taught CCD and worked for a number of years at each election alongside the Registrars office.
Saraâs organizational skills and knowledge of technology will help the town clerkâs office to run effortlessly. She researches and looks at all issues and topics with a critical eye before making a decision. Working with her on the DTC, I have seen first-hand how her creative thinking can make the working environment more enjoyable and efficient.
Sara has been educating herself on what it means to be a town clerk. There are many state statutes that govern running the office properly, and she has been working to learn these so that she can be ready to go on day one. Sara has checked the town clerk website and is fully aware of the duties of a town clerk: record all vital records, issue licenses, manage public records, post agenda and minutes of different boards and commissions. With her keen organization skills, she will be more than adept at managing all these duties and more.
Donât forget to vote.
