To the Editor:

Mary Ann Jacob is the best choice for Legislative Council, District 2. Why? I have worked alongside of Mary Ann for the past several years. I am always impressed by the manner in which she dissects a problem and focuses on the main issue.

In her “former” life, she was a sales and a business development executive. Recently, Mary Ann has used her business skills to understand how the Newtown’s boards and commissions work together, to understand the underlying town financing, to lead as PTA president at several of our schools, and to sensibly advocate for town budgets. Mary Ann promotes communicating budget facts to families that will allow them to make informed decisions. She does not advocate “the sky is falling” approach and create false alarm.

Mary Ann is my choice because she makes fact-based, common sense decisions. Mary Ann understands how the town boards and commissions interact. She respects and understands their different roles. District 2 should consider themselves lucky to have such a phenomenal choice in Mary Ann Jacob for Legislative Council.
