The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will present its 2009 Fall Art Show and Sale at Newtown Meeting House, at 31 Main Street, October 23-25. The show will be open Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm each day.

This extraordinary art exhibition and sale will include beautiful, original artwork by local artists. Sales of the works will benefit SCAN, a regional nonprofit arts organization that provides training and advocates for member artists and connects the community to the arts.

More than 100 framed original oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, and graphic work, as well as unframed pieces created by the organization’s membership, will fill the lower community room of the meeting house.

The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, October 23, from 6 to 8 pm. This will be an opportunity to mingle with area artists, support the arts, and perhaps leave with an affordable piece of original artwork.
