U10

Extreme Mustangs 3,. Dynamite Desserts 1: The Dynamite Desserts were led by a goal scored by Sydney Johnson, while Jackie Seras and Cathy Hyeon provided numerous goalie saves on defense. Jillian Pieretti and Bella Jiminez both scored for the Mustangs, and Grace Corcoran notched her first goal of the season off of a breakthrough assist from Emily Toby.

Southbury 3, Newtown Breeze 0: For the Breeze, Maggie Beardsley, Natalie Kelchner, and Jessica Maturo played well at both ends of the field. The defense was also strong, led by Jacklin Gouveia, Greta Staubly, and Erin Tressler.

U13

Lightning 5, Darien 0: The U13 girls outplayed Darien for a solid win in State Cup play. The Lightning offense was powered by Megan Weber with two goals, and Sarah Lynch, Amy Martinelli and Emily Davis with one apiece. Lynch and Shelby Tolla also contributed assists. Kate Fallon played well on defense and in the midfield, and Sophia DeVivo helped maintain the pressure on offense. Jesse Sailer and Martinelli handled the nets for Newtown.

Monroe 4, Lightning 1: In a game where the final score fails to reflect the tightness of the contest, the Lightning fell to a tough Monroe team. Playing in drenching rain and bone-chilling temperature, the U13 girls fought hard throughout the first period to end down two at the half. The Lightning came out strong in the second period and Amy Martinelli scored almost immediately off an assist by Sarah Lynch. With repeated attacks on the Monroe goal, Newtown seemed poised on a number of occasions to claim a tie, but the Lightning ultimately lost their momentum and their opponents scored two more to seal the win. Emily Davis had a good game in the midfield and Jesse Sailer was tough in goal throughout the match, with several good saves.

U14

Chatterboxes 4, Just for Kicks 0: The Chatterboxes were led by Sierra Mather with three goals and Jamie Duncan with a goal and an assist. Marissa Liberante played a great game in goal with strong support in the midfield by Danielle Mola and Amanda Donovan. Just for Kicks had strong played by Jessica Principi, Courtney Datin, Nicole Russo, Bailey Smith, Haley Williams and Amanda Albanesi.

Cone Heads 4, Street Lightning 1: The Cone Heads goals were scored by Megan Olkszewski, Hannah Delia, Maren Brady, and Ashley Marks.  Callie Kraushaar and Lindsay Fuori played a strong game supporting the offense. Joanelle Tran was great on defense along with Danielle Agugliara playing well in goal. Street Lightning played a strong game in the second half.  Madelyn Aug scored following a cross by Carly Grossano. Sara Lampel was brilliant in defense with Molly Begg who won plenty of balls. Zoe Brodsky put in another fine performance in the goals. 

Boys

U10

Net Rippers 6, Wilton 0: The Net Rippers tore six holes in the net against Wilton, winning a 6-0 shut out. Matt Booch-Bucci ripped in two, with additional goals by Josh Harper, Silas Decker, Evan Eggleston and Matt Gerbo. A brilliant defense led by Hunter Procaccini and Kickin’ Connor Barrett made for a boring day for goalies Adam Bergeron and Silas Decker. Josh Harper was unstoppable with incredible passing and aggressive offensive play. Amazin’ Andy Greenwood and the mighty Brendan O’Hara were impressive with their fancy footwork.

Predators vs team 3: The game was close with the Predators winning 5 to 3. Kevin Arther scored three goals and strong on defense. David Usher and Chad Azzarito scored one goal apiece. Riley Burns and Michael Arther each had one assist. Thomas Majilinger had two shots on goal. Strong on defense were Ryan Escoda and Austin Smith. All three goals for Team 3 were scored by Jordan Klein. Strong on defense for Team 3 were Daniel Reilly and Jacob Anastasi.

U14

Barca 3, AC Falcons 2: For Barca, goals by Anthony Vournazos with assist from Miguel Rodriguez, goal by Miguel Rodriguez unassisted and goal by Omar Rodriguez with assist from William Roberts. Also playing well on offence was Colin Villamana and Mitchell Roberts. Great goalkeeping by William Roberts and good defense from James Barry, Enea Musaka and Quinlin Hart. For AC Falcons, Josh Harrison played great in goal and stopped many shots. Goals were scored by Mark Urso and Chris Rovelli.

Slammin Cobras 3, Vipers 2: In a well-played game, the Slammin Cobras defeated the Vipers. The Cobras offense was led by Jacob Moore with two goals and Michael Biancardi with one. James Wilkie and Brad Kretz controlled the midfield, creating a number of scoring opportunities. The defense was led by Danny Cummings, Daniel Toby and Conor Murphy. Gabe Barrett was outstanding in his first carver game in goal. The Vipers were led by Tim VanderHave with two goals and Alister Sore who had a good game on offense. Sinclaire Sore anchored the defense and Patrick Olah had a great game in goal.

Hot Pockets 3, Team Roma 3: Brandon Rodriquez, Carter Nordman and Tyler Dullinger scored for the Hot Pockets. Goalkeeper Korey Brodsky and forward Thomas Gavel also played well for the Hot Pockets. For Team Roma, goals were scored by Tony Leonardi, Dillon Palumbo, and John Narducci (penalty shot). Connor Flint played well in goal in the first half, and Joe Anastasi saved the game for Roma in goal in the second half by turning away shot after shot from the tough Hot Pocket team.
