Fishing And Hunting Licenses At Newtown Bait And Tackle

Officials at Newtown Bait and Tackle announced that contrary the mention in a letter to the editor in the October 16 edition of The Newtown Bee that Newtown Bait and Tackle is no longer selling Connecticut hunting and fishing licenses, Newtown Bait and Tackle does, in fact, offers licenses.

Newtown Bait and Tackle officials say that in December 2008 the State Of Connecticut started an automated computer license system. At the same time, the towns in Connecticut had the option to no longer sell licenses providing that a retail establishment in their area has the Department of Environmental Protection computer system. Many towns opted out because the new system is time consuming for the town clerk’s offices, according to Newtown Bait and Tackle representatives.

Newtown Bait and Tackle also announced that all Connecticut hunting and fishing licenses for Connecticut residences will double in price for 2010.
