NEW YORK CITY — Altermann Galleries will present a solo exhibition by Jesús Moroles opening on Thursday, November 15, with a reception from 5 to 7 pm, at which the artist will be in attendance.

Moroles established himself as one of the master sculptors of his generation. His work can be found in private and public collections worldwide. To date, Moroles’ work has been included in more than 130 solo exhibitions and about 200 group exhibitions.

His work has been the subject of numerous articles and reviews in publications such as The New Yorker, Artnews, Artforum, Artspace, Southwest Art and Time, as well as several books, such as America Art Now, Art in the Eighties, National Museum of American Art, Contemporary Art in New Mexico, and A Comprehensive Guide to Outdoor Sculpture in Texas.

Moroles has completed such important pieces as the “Floating Mesa Fountain,” a 22-foot-tall sculpture fountain at the Albuquerque Museum in New Mexico; “Lapstrake,” a 64 ton, 22-foot-tall sculpture across the street from the Museum of Modern Art in New York City; a

nd the large, landscape integrated “Houston Police Officers Memorial” in Houston, Texas.
