Alexander William DiSabato, 75, of Newtown died October 18. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he graduated from the Police Academy in 1964 and served the City of New York in various Manhattan and Bronx Divisions and precincts before promotion to detective, working Bronx Narcotics and Manhattan Homicide. 

After 20 years of loyal service to the New York City Police Department, he worked the subsequent 28 years as director of security at Westchester Country Club.

His loving wife, Dede Patterson-DiSabato; his son Matthew DiSabato, and wife Kathy; daughter Geri Sniffen, and husband William; and his five precious grandchildren Katie, Alex, Jackie, Jack, and Sydney survive Mr DiSabato.

In addition to his family, his passions included golf, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and his German shepherd.

A brief service will take place Friday, October 24, at 10:30 am, in Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, with Tony Caraluzzi officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, Mr DiSabato’s family suggests thanking a police officer or person in uniform for his or her dedicated service.
