To the Editor:
Chris Lyddy is a nice young man from Newtown, but he is not getting my vote on November 2. Hereâs why.
In two years being in Hartford, Chris Lyddy hasnât benefited the people and businesses of Newtown.
In fact, Chris Lyddy didnât sponsor or co-sponsor one piece of legislation on issues that matter to you and me; the economy, jobs, and most of all, our tax burden. Just ask him.
For our town and in this economy we need a lot more from our only voice in this assembly.
Itâs not about parties or endorsements; itâs not about being nice. Itâs about experience and leadership. Chris Lyddy just didnât exhibit these vital strengths and doesnât get my vote.
George Ferguson, by contrast, will lead. His record for Newtown on the environment is terrific, his clarity on jobs, taxes and education is great (each of his three children has been or is in our schools). He has operated his own business for 17 years, and he is a nice guy. George Ferguson knows the issues we care about, and knows what needs to get done. Just ask him, I did. Donât waste your vote on November 2. Support a strong Newtown leader whoâll work for us in Hartford. We all could use George Fergusonâs help. Ferguson has my vote.
Sincerely,
Philip Carroll
