The Pictures Of Newtown
The Pictures Of Newtown
To the Editor:
The opening reception of the Flagpole Photographers exhibit at Newtown Municipal Center Sunday was a marvelous achievement, made possible with the encouragement and support of First Selectwoman Pat Llodra and the superb setup artistically designed by Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia.
A total of 209 photographs by 28 members of the club are on display, several of which have been sold, and will continue until the middle of November. While many of the photographs on display can be purchased, that is not the major purpose of the exhibit, which is to showcase many photos of Newtown and favorites of the individual Flagpole Photographers. The club and public are indeed grateful for the excellent work of the co-chairwomen of the event, Rhonda Cullens and Win Brickmeyer. While individual members contributed refreshments for those attending the reception Sunday, thanks also goes to Hollandia Nursery for flowers, Andreaâs Bakery for refreshments, Big Y for the cake, Peter Obre for his live classical guitar music, and the Cyrenius Booth Library for loaning extra hanging hardware.
The club is also indebted to The Bee and Shannon Hicks, as well as the Newtown Patch and Sue Rubino for helping with publicity.
Newtown residents and friends are encouraged to see the exhibit of some very fine photography.
Sincerely,
Anne Eigen
