Mr And Mrs Kevin Gouveia

Megan Elizabeth Cashman and Kevin Joseph Gouveia were joined in marriage on May 21 at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, with the Rev Msgr George Birge officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Alton and Gail Cashman of Newtown.

The bridegroom is the son of Albano and Nancy Gouveia of New Fairfield.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She wore a short-sleeved, ivory raw silk dress with pearl beaded bodice and carried soft white flowers with ivy cascading over her grandmother’s mother-of-pearl prayer book.

The maid of honor was Marcy Clemence of Newport News, Va.

The bridesmaids were Jill Cashman, the bride’s sister-in-law, of LaGrange, Ga., Stephanie Scott of Newtown, and Maureen Duff of Herndon, Va.

The bridal attendants wore sage-colored short-sleeved dresses and carried cascading bouquets of soft peach and white flowers with ivy.

The best man was Gary Gouveia, brother of the groom, of New Fairfield.

The ushers were Eric Cashman, brother of the bride, of LaGrange, Ga., Christopher Gouveia, brother of the groom, of Danbury, and Christopher Waters of Danbury.

The bride graduated from Newtown High School and the Stone Academy in Hamden. She is employed as a travel consultant at Stony Hill Travel in Bethel.

The groom graduated from New Fairfield High School and is a self-employed painter.

The reception was held at Grassy Hill Lodge in Derby.

Following a wedding trip to St Lucia and Jamaica, Mr and Mrs Gouveia are residing in Danbury.
