Joseph T. Buturla, Sr

Joseph T. Buturla, Sr, 75, of Monroe, died October 21 in St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

He was the father of Janice Moran of Newtown.

Mr Buturla was born in Fairfield, and had been a Monroe resident for the past 50 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army, and was a retired boiler fireman for Sikorsky Aircraft. He was an honorary member of the Monroe Rod & Gun Club.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Bernice (Deneve) Buturla; one son, Joseph T. Buturla, Jr, of Monroe; two other daughters, Gina Marulli of Derby and Margaret Csuka of Monroe; three sisters, Sr M. Regina Marie of Hartford, Stella Kochefko of Bridgeport and Sophie Saloomey of Ansonia; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held on October 23 in the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street (Route 25), Monroe. Interment was in the Monroe Center Cemetery.
