Walter R. Cowell

US Army Veteran

Walter R. Cowell, 72, beloved husband of Anna M. Barbera Cowell, of Seymour, died October 15, surrounded by his loving family, in the comfort of his home. Mr Cowell was born in Bridgeport, December 31, 1938, son of Viola Abramczyk Cowell and Edward Cowell, Sr.

Mr Cowell resided in Newtown before moving to Seymour. He was a US Army veteran (1957 to 1960) and a former employee of Trico and B&D Molded Products for many years, as well as Stranton Industries in Stratford, from which he retired.

He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed life. He will be remembered as a loving, caring husband and a devoted stepfather.

In addition to his wife of 29 years, he leaves to cherish his memory three siblings, including Edward Cowell of Newtown; a daughter; his stepchildren; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family wishes to thank Connecticut Hospice in Shelton; his nurse, Evelyn Nash; Home Health Aide, Woody; and social workers, for all of their help and support.

A funeral service and celebration of Mr Cowell’s life took place October 18, followed by US Army military honors. Per his request, his burial will be private.
