Tracy & John Trentacosta, Jr

Tracy Shumway and John Trentacosta, Jr, were married on July 30, 2011, at Bill Miller’s Castle in Branford. Judge Michael Hartmere officiated the ceremony. The bride, a daughter of Charleen and Skip Shumway of Hamden, was given into marriage by her father.

Kristen Lowe, the bride’s sister, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Renata Kontulis, Cheri LaFlamme, Krista Kontulis, and Allison Chester. The bride and her attendants all carried bouquets that featured Gerber daisies.

Victoria Bertone was the flower girl, and Nicholas Bertone was the ring bearer.

The groom is a son of Linda and John Trentacosta of Newtown.

Brian Trentacosta, the groom’s brother, also of Newtown, was the best man. Ushers were Martin Alsonso, Bob Thompson, Chris Beaton, and Justin Lowe.

The marriage ceremony was followed by a reception, which also took place at Bill Miller’s Castle. Magician Vincent Bonomo performed for the guests, and music was performed by Locomotion, a ten-piece horn band.

Tracy is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, where she earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. She is continuing her studies at Southern, working toward a fifth year degree, while also working as a sixth grade teacher at Joseph Milillo Middle School.

John graduated from Amity High School. He is a licensed electrician, and is employed by All Brite Electrical of West Haven.

The Trentacostas celebrated their marriage with a trip to Zoetry Resorts, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They live in West Haven.
