To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to endorse and recommend my wife, Maureen Crick Owen, as the Democratic candidate for the Newtown Board of Assessment Appeals.
Maureen is a lifelong resident of Newtown and a graduate from Newtown High School. She has been actively involved in Newtownâs affairs for many years. She is 12th generation and direct descendant of John Glover, one of the first settlers of Newtown; daughter of James W. Crick, Jr, and Joan Glover Crick.
Maureen is an ideal candidate for this position as she has an excellent background and the experience to serve Newtown in this important capacity.
Since 1998, she has served as clerk for the Borough of Newtown Zoning Board of Appeals and Zoning Commission. She has been managing the operations of Newtown Village Cemetery Association since 1997, initially serving as secretary and now as president since 2004. For the past two years, she has been actively involved with and serves as a board member on the Newtown Parks and Recreation Commission.
Maureen also has extensive professional experience with real estate and the legal profession, having worked as a paralegal for a number of well established and respected private practice law firms and corporations.
Maureenâs proven commitment to serving our community and her professional experience uniquely qualifies her for this position. I believe that she will serve on the Board of Assessment Appeals professionally with diligence, hard work, and integrity. Newtown needs a person as devoted and competent as she is. Please join me in voting for my wife, Maureen Crick Owen, for Board of Assessment Appeals on Election Day, November 8.
Sincerely yours,
Cramer Owen
