To the Editor:

I liked reading Doug Nelson’s letter of endorsement of Jim Gaston for Board of Selectman [Letter Hive, 10/7/11]. I agree with him, there is a real “comfort” with Jim Gaston representing us. Mr Nelson says he has a real comfort with Jim as Warden of the Borough, straight up, low taxes, both a listener and problem solver.

I have felt the same way over the past ten years with Jim Gaston on our town Board of Finance. He believes in fiscal responsibility, good schools, and good services. He gets things done. Jim, you have our support for Board of Selectmen. We know you will continue to do a great job for Newtown.
