To the Editor:
As a Newtown resident of nearly 50 years, retired president of my own manufacturing company on Commerce Road, and having served on several boards and commissions, I am endorsing Paul Mangiafico for the Police Commission.
Paulâs academic background in engineering has shaped him as a problem solver who seeks viable, logical solutions to problems. He has a history of commitment and accomplishment having served in three elected offices (Newtown Board of Education, Danburyâs vice chairman Zoning Commission and as Newtownâs second selectman). He served as director of Newtown Youth & Family Services, director of the Board of Directors Military Museum of Southern New England, and as a member of the Industrial Advisory Board of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
His business background as a corporate executive obliged Paul to make many wise and careful decisions. Now in retirement, he is called upon by former colleagues to help solve problems as an international consultant in engineering and management.
Paul Mangiaficoâs no-nonsense approach to problems and their solutions is why I am endorsing him for the Newtown Police Commission.
