Head O’ Meadow Slates Fall Family Fun Day

Head O’ Meadow’s PTA is moving its Fall Family Fun Day to the Newtown Youth Academy, 4 Primrose Street, this year. The event is for Head O’ Meadow families only, and is scheduled for Sunday, October 30, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

PTA members Cynthia Iarpoli and Michelle Melillo are co-chairing the event.

Ms Iarpoli said the event is not meant as a “drop off” event. Parents are asked to attend and stay with their children.

As the second largest Head O’ Meadow PTA fundraiser, Ms Iarpoli said the PTA is hoping to raise $3,000 from the day of fun.

The event will include inflatables for children, “wacky relay races,” games, dance instruction from Newtown High School Dance Team members, raffle prizes, arts, crafts, face painting, a bake sale, and a silent auction. Ms Iarpoli also said there will be pumpkin decorating during the day.

Admission for the event for children between the ages of 5 and 12 is $20 at the door. For adults and children under the age of 5, admission is free. Food will be available by purchase at Newtown Youth Academy’s Sideline Café, and is not included with the price of admission.

Head O’ Meadow’s Fall Family Fun Day has been held outside at the school in the past, but Ms Iarpoli said it was moved to Newtown Youth Academy to bring the festivities indoors and away from possibly weather complications.
