Car Vs Pedestrian

Police said that a security guard at Newtown High School received minor injuries when he was struck by a vehicle there while he was on foot at about 8 am on October 18.

Police said motorist Michael Mead, 18, of 14 Far View Drive was driving a 2010 Ford Focus sedan that came into contact with security guard Frederick Biondi, 48.

Police said they were called to the high school to investigate, but Mead had left the scene. Police said they found the Ford at Mead’s residence, but not Mead. A short time later, Mead returned to the high school, where police investigated.

Police said they charged Mead with evading responsibility. He was released on $60 bail for a November 1 court appearance, police said.

Biondi was transported to Danbury Hospital to be checked for minor injuries, police said.
