Lisa Marie Rodriguez and Chad Eliot Jemison
James and Carol Rodriguez of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Marie of Saranac Lake, N.Y., to Chad Eliot Jemison of Saranac Lake, N.Y., son of Terry and Marilyn Jemison of Alexandria, Va.
Ms Rodriguez is a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School and graduated with a bachelor of science in natural resources management from the University of Connecticut in 2003. She received her master of science degree in wildlife biology from the University of Connecticut in 2005. Ms Rodriguez is employed in education and exhibit development by The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks in Tupper Lake, N.Y.
Mr Jemison graduated from Jeb Stuart High in Washington, D.C., in 1995. He received his bachelor of arts in philosophy and religion from Colgate University in New York. He is currently pursuing his master of arts in sustainability education at Prescott College in Arizona. Mr Jemison is the weekend program coordinator and teaches Adirondack field ecology at North Country School in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The couple met in May 2004 in Grand Teton National Park where both completed part of their masterâs degrees at Teton Science School in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
An outdoor wedding is planned for September 3, 2006, at South Meadow Farm in Lake Placid.
