Robert F. Randall, Jr, formerly of Newtown, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.

Robert was born in Bridgeport, on July 11, 1941, to the late Robert F. Sr, and Mildred Randall of Easton. While living in Easton he was heavily involved in 4-H and chose to attend Newtown High School, where he was vice president of the school’s Future Farmers of America chapter. After graduating from NHS in 1960, Robert owned and operated the Randall Dairy Farm (now the Randall Farm Preserve) on Sport Hill Road in Easton until 1973. Following this, Robert worked for United Carting in Fairfield for 19 years. In 1982, he moved his family up the road to Newtown. He moved to Virginia in 1992 and worked for Waste Management until he retired in 2003. In retirement, he moved to rural south-central Missouri, where he purchased a small cattle farm and enjoyed visits from his grandchildren. Robert loved farming, gardening, animal husbandry, and most of all his family.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years who he adored, Maria Sonia Randall; sister Virginia Sue Svanda; daughters, Adriana Schanbusch (née Gomez) and Virginia Sandra Long; sons, Carlos E. “Eddie” Gomez, Robert F. Randall III, and James A. Randall; grandchildren, John, Nicholas, Dana, Walker, Charles, and Jayah; several great-grandchildren; niece Dale Trombley (née Plavnicky); and nephew Edward Plavnicky.

A private funeral service was held at St Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 19.

Never stopped being an agricultural enthusiast. All aspects of that subject were of interest to my Dad till the day he died. I’m thankful, as an adult, I was able to spend so much time with my Father. Love you so very much Dad
