On Saturday, November 3, from 2 to 4 pm, Newtown United will host “An Authors Afternoon” at My Place Restaurant, 8 Queen Street. The guest authors are Nan Rossiter, Debra Sennefelder, and Harmony Verna. Each will have copies of their books available for purchase.

Tickets are $20 and will include pizza and wine in addition to the program.

Nan Rossiter graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Illustration. For several years, she did freelance work, and then she began writing and illustrating books for children.

Ms Rossiter has since written six books and has become a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author.

Her first adult novel, The Gin & Chowder Club, which is set on Cape Cod, was published in 2011.

A resident of New Milford, Ms Rossiter reportedly enjoys hiking with her family or curling up with a good book when she isn’t working.

Debra Sennefelder will speak on her books, The Food Blogger Mystery Series and the Resale Boutique Mystery Series.

Ms Sennefelder is an avid reader who reads across a range of genres, but mystery fiction is her obsession. Her interest in people and relationships is channeled into her novels against a backdrop of crime and mystery.

Ms Sennefelder was born and raised in New York City, where she majored in her hobby of fashion buying. She now lives and writes in Connecticut with her family.

She is a member of Sisters in Crime, International Thriller Writers, Women’s Fiction Writers Association, and Romance Writers of America.

Newtown resident Harmony Verna is the author of Daughter of Australia and Beneath the Apple Leaves.

She has worked with all media facets. As a freelance writer, she has written scripts for Food Network and articles for Modern Bride Magazine, Connecticut Woman’s Magazine, and several others.

Seating is limited for the November 3 Authors Afternoon. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 203-740-2733.

Newtown United is a 501(c)(3) organization. Proceeds from the author event will benefit the Edmond Town Hall Theater Restoration.
