Eleanor Ferrusi Bowden

Eleanor Ferrusi Bowden, 86, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Edmund W. Bowden, beloved mother and grandmother, died October 18 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport June 8, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Frances Matera Ferrusi and was a lifelong area resident.

Survivors include three children, Donna Bowden of Newtown, Mary Beth Bombardieri, and her husband Richard, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Christopher Bowden, and his wife Nancy, of Trumbull; six grandchildren, Brendan Shanley, and his wife Jennia, Matthew, Joy, and Beau Bowden, and Patrick and Emma Herring; as well as many nieces and nephews. A brother, Dominic Ferrusi; and two sisters, Jeen Ferrusi and Anna Mae Sciarappa, predeceased Mrs Bowden.

Before her retirement, Mrs Bowden was an administrative assistant with the City of Bridgeport Housing Code Department for 24 years.

The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, Denise Buckley, Maria Adams, and Kayla Buckley, and the staff at Masonic Care Hospice.

Family and friends may call Monday, October 20, from 5 to 8 pm, at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends are invited to meet directly in St Stephen’s Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull, Tuesday, October 21, at 10 am, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
