To Heat Up First Thursday At Mattatuck Museum

WATERBURY — Alisa Bowens will perform and demonstrate the art of salsa dancing at Mattatuck Museum’s First Thursday performance on November 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Ms Bowens, artistic director, choreographer, performer, instructor and founder of Alisa’s House of Salsa, is a legend in the world of dance. She has been included in the Guinness Book of World Records for teaching The World’s Largest Salsa Lesson, with more than 2,800 participants.

Ms Bowens has opened for Grammy Award-winner Rueben Blades and was lead back-up dancer for M&M recording artist Hector Bonet, and is currently touring with the group Morning, Noon, and Night. She has appeared at Shubert Theater, Mohegan Sun Casino, Palace Theater, and many other dance clubs in the area.

At the First Thursday performance museum members will have an opportunity to sign up for salsa lesions at a special rate.

Admission is $7 for members and $15 for nonmembers.

The Mattatuck Museum is at 144 West Main Street, with convenient parking directly behind the museum on Park Place.
