Burger King/McLamore North American Scholarship Program – 269 $1,000 scholarships nationwide given to senior students who are generally great kids but whose academic credentials fall within a GPA range of 2.5 to 3.5 primarily because they must work part-time (15 hours per week average) out of financial need.  Two seniors, one boy and one girl, may be nominated from Newtown High School.  Deadline for applications to be turned in to the Career Center is January 6, 2000.

Silver City Road derives its unlikely name from a dude ranch which once attracted horse lovers to the Newtown area.
