Dodgingtown Fire Co. Open House Is Sunday

Pat Shevlin paints a picket fence outside the Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire Company last Saturday morning. The fire company, at 55 Dodgingtown Road, will hold an open house this Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. The public is invited to attend. The open house initiates the annual fund drive and will feature the Kids’ Fire Safety House where children will receive instruction on how to call 911 and how to escape from a smoky bedroom. There will also be an important message concerning regular smoke alarm testing and battery replacement. Free 9-volt batteries, donated by Duracell, will be given away. The Newtown Ambulance Corps and Newtown Police Department will also be on hand.    – Bee Photo, Bigham
