CPR Saturday Set For Nov 6
CPR Saturday Set For Nov 6
November 6 has been designated CPR Saturday in Newtown and other area towns in a coordinated effort by emergency service agencies to help save lives.
To improve emergency training among the public, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and obstructed airway/choking training will be offered at 9 am and 1 pm in Newtown by the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
âWe think it is important for individuals to learn and participate in critical lifesaving skills that will make our community a safer place to live,â said Kris Peterson, chairperson of the CPR Saturday project. âWhile calling 911 is a critical first step, every minute counts and the ability to respond while emergency medical services are en route can sometimes be the difference between life and death.â
âThis training is open to everyone â citizens, parents, teachers, friends, and loved ones,â Ms Peterson said. âJoin us for this low-cost training and learn skills for life.â
CPR Saturday will be held by the Emergency Medical Services of the Northwestern Region of Connecticut in all towns in the region. The cost will be $10 per person.
