To the Editor:

I believe the Newtown Board of Education would be enhanced with the inclusion of Independent candidate Bruce Walczak. I’ve known Bruce ever since I moved to Newtown ten years ago; he has always been a high energy knowledgable individual happiest learning and discussing different points of view.

Newtown is rated by Public School Review as in the top 20 percent in math scores, and top ten percent in reading of Connecticut schools. Overall, we are consistently ranked in the top 20 percent of the state’s school district and ranked in the top one percent for our 99 percent high school graduation rate. By any standard Newtown has excellent schools, and many residents move to Newtown because of our excellence.

We need objective and open-minded members, like Independent Bruce Walczak to guide our school district.
