To The Editor:

When we made our decision to move to Newtown in 1983 it was based on the good school system, the sense of community along with the physical beauty of the town. We imagine that holds true for the majority of Newtown residents.

We are impressed with the number of people who have stepped forward to have an active role in our local government. We need to remember as we head to the polls that it takes more than a name on the ballot. We need to make our choice based on experience and integrity. Barb Manville is one such individual.

Barb is deeply rooted in Newtown.

She had been elected as an alternate for a two-year term to Planning and Zoning and then as a commissioner for four years. Barb’s position on the various presentations to P&Z were always made with the best interest of Newtown residents. She is not affiliated with any organizations that could be considered as a conflict of interest.

We believe that Barb has all the necessary qualifications that we need at this time.
