I strongly recommend Newtown residents vote for Philip Cruz for Police Commission. A Newtown resident of more than 40 years, Phil has years of public and private experience in the military, business world, and education, which give him a unique perspective and the skills to both support our police department and represent Newtown.

Phil’s experience on both Danbury and Newtown Planning and Zoning boards gives him a deep understanding of infrastructure issues and traffic pattern concerns that our town is presently facing today. These concerns may become more problematic if people like Phil aren’t watching out for our community.

Along with his “can do” attitude, Phil’s leadership skills have been tested time and time again. His 25 years of Army service to our country has shown his dedication, leadership, integrity, honor, and decision-making skills.

Phil has not only shown his devotion to his country but has shown that same commitment to this community and its young people as an educator in the Newtown School District for nearly 30 years. Throughout all those years, Phil has gone above and beyond for his students and their families, making a lasting impression on countless young people and preparing them for their future role as informed and engaged citizens. Phil is the type of individual we need to build a bridge between our young people and the law enforcement community.

Phil is a proven community leader and decision maker who is the right choice for the Police Commission. Our town will greatly benefit from having him in this position .

I encourage residents to vote for Philip Cruz for Police Commissioner.
