Time For Water Conservation?
By Ken Hugo

Is it not time to address the subject of water conservation?
We are running 20 inches behind in annual average rainfall since January 1, 2015.
The Pootatuck is down to a trickle. Weeds are growing where the water used to run.
Area businesses which take care of local wells are receiving several calls per day from homeowners whose wells have run dry.
Folks with in-ground sprinkler systems continue to use them even though it is fall.
And, we persist in washing our cars.
And woods around our homes are tinder dry. Is it not time to address the subject of water conservation?
