Adopt From The Pound

The following dogs are among those available for adoption from the Newtown pound:

CHI CHI is a very cute “designer dog,” a Pomchi (Pomeranian /Chihuahua hybrid). This neutered 8 pounder is a ball of fire — full of energy, playful, very fast, and way too cute. His previous owner was an elderly gentleman who, naturally, adored him. But he realized that Chi Chi just had way too much energy for him and decided that it would be best to place him in a good home where he could charm his new owners for a good many years to come.

Chi Chi’s young age (1 1/2 years), good health, fantastic disposition, and playful antics make Chi Chi very adoptable and he could prove to be a good companion for some lucky family. He had a bare patch on his neck. It was shaved to allow a skin irritation to heal. His fur will grow back quickly.

Chi Chi may be visited at the Brian J.Silverlieb Animal Care and Control Center of Newtown on Old Farm Road (behind the Reed School).

MISTY is a mixed breed female weighing 40 to 45 pounds. She is spayed and sports a black and white coat with some nice black spots on her chest and front legs. While quite shy, she is also gentle and can be affectionately handled. Misty just needs someone to love her and provide constant gentle direction. Give her those three things — love, direction, and constancy — and she will repay you with loyal and loving companionship. Come to the shelter and check her out. She deserves that much at the very least.

CLARICE is a 4 year old female pit bull mix. She is spayed and sports a mostly black coat with a small white patch on her chest and the tips of her rear paws. She has been at the shelter for nearly two years and is just waiting for the right family to claim her. She is affectionate, loves people, and would be good with children. But, she might not be a good fit with a family with other dogs or a cat. She will play ball with you for as long as you can stand it. Her short, shiny black coat is very clean and makes caring for her a snap. Her good health, vitality, and pleasant disposition could make her the right choice. Charice may be visited at the Brian J. Silverlieb Animal Care and Control Center of Newtown.
