Kathryn “Kathy” Hamilton Fetchick is the outstanding candidate for the Board of Education because of her commitment to the improvement of the school system and her deep regard for the community. Kathy has immersed herself in the Sandy Hook School PTA, current PTA liaison to the Board of Education, a member of the PTA Budget Committee and in addition she was a member of the PTA Council’s Newtown High School space needs committee.

Mrs Fetchick is a graduate of Newtown High School, 1983, has an engineering degree from the University of Connecticut, was employed by DataViz Inc as a product manager and software engineer, is married and has two children.

Kathy specifically returned to Newtown years ago with her husband because of her love for the community life and excellent school system. First Selectman Herb Rosenthal was encouraged by her school dedication and appointed her to the Newtown Strategic Long-Range Planning Committee. We have been family friends for 35 years, so know well her many outstanding capabilities. In addition we think you’ll agree that her extensive school system experience is a commitment to keeping the schools on the leading edge, for the benefit of the children, and preserving home values.

We lived in Newtown for 30 years and served on many elected and appointed positions, our care and concern for Newtown has not lessened because of our retirement.  Kathryn Hamilton Fetchick has the necessary qualifications for the position and is a beneficial asset you can put to immediate use on the Board of Education with your vote.
