Notice To Political Letter Writers

The Newtown Bee has two more editions before the November 6 election, and we expect to receive many letters to the editor endorsing candidates and addressing issues of importance to voters.

In an effort to be fair, The Bee will restrict political letters published in the November 2 edition of the paper to positive expressions of endorsement or support for particular candidates or parties. Because it will be the final edition before the election, letters containing allegations or negative representations of opposing candidates or parties that might ordinarily elicit a rebuttal or response in a subsequent issue will not be published.

These restrictions will not apply to letters received by 5 pm Wednesday October 24, the letters deadline for the October 26 edition of The Bee.
