Andrews, Jr

Korean War Veteran

John C. Andrews, Jr, 76, of Newtown, died October 12 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Mr Andrews was the husband of Carole (Specht) Andrews. He was born in Waterbury, December 16, 1930, a son of J. Clark and Arlene (Macgregor) Andrews.

Mr Andrews served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed for 40 years by Western Electric, now Lucent Technologies. He enjoyed working on his wood lathe, spending time with his grandchildren, and volunteering at the Danbury Railway Museum.

In addition to his wife, Mr Andrews is survived by three daughters, Nancy Andrews of Scarsdale, N.Y., Jennifer Faggio of Madison, and Ellen Andrews of Waldo, Maine; two sons, John Andrews, III, and George Andrews, both of Carbondale, Colo.; five grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas Faggio, Joel and Avy Andrews, and Leah Bowman; a brother, Robert Andrews of Bethel; and a sister, Carol Andrews of Miami.

A memorial service was held at the Newtown Congregational Church, October 17. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery was private.
