Cityscape Program By Thomas Valenti, October 24

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host Thomas Valenti, an artist from New Jersey, who will paint a cityscape on Wednesday, October 24, at 1:30 pm, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street. The public is invited, free of charge.

Mr Valenti is president of Allied Artists of America. He was born and raised in New York, but presently lives in Bergen County in New Jersey. He has participated in countless juried shows including the American Watercolor Society, American Artists Professional League, Allied Artists of America and New Jersey Watercolor Society. He has received awards from all of these organizations.

Mr Valenti is featured on “For the Love of Art” a program broadcast on WCTV in New Jersey. His article “The Tonal Technique in Watercolor” was published in the October 1985 issue of Artist’s magazine. An article featuring the oil and watercolor techniques of Mr Valenti appeared in the January 2007 issue of American Artist magazine.

The work of Thomas P. Valenti reflects the urban landscape, primarily views of New York City. Deftly placed brush strokes result in a surprising realistic effect without the clutter of unnecessary details..

Reservations are not necessary for SCAN programs. For additional information, however, call 426-6654.
