12th Annual Grasso Festival Was Entertaining
With more than 1,000 spectators, 700 hundred band and color guard members, and many Band Parent volunteers, the 12th Annual Grasso Festival held at Newtown High School on October 6 was a tremendous success.
Eight high school marching bands participated in the Musical Arts Conference (MAC) Competition: Shelton, Bethel, East Ramapo, N.Y., Naugatuck, Danbury, Jonathan Law, Masuk, and New Milford. As the host school, the Nighthawks, in Class IV, performed in exhibition only.
Having hundreds of hours of collective practice under their instruments, flags, rifles, and sabers, the group of 87 has worked tirelessly to achieve first place at all of the weekly competitions so far this season.
Following are the scores earned by the visiting teams on October 6:
Class II â Shelton High School, 68.30.
