Non-Union Town Employees Get A Raise
Non-Union Town Employees Get A Raise
The Legislative Council Wednesday voted in favor of giving the townâs non-union employees a pay raise of 3.25 percent. This is considered an annual cost-of-living salary increase.
Non-union employees include all department heads and the first selectmanâs office staff. The council determines the first selectmanâs salary increase at budget time.
Following the approval, council member Melissa Pilchard said she thought it was a âcop outâ to give everyone the same pay raise.
âI think particularly management should be given raises based on merit,â she said.
Mrs Pilchard also suggested that those making over $80,000 not necessarily receive such a large percentage increase since 3.25 percent of $80,000 is a big jump.Â
